Furniture
We couldn't not include something for you to sit on and this is some of the best that we've come across. Strong enough for commercial applications. Sustainable hardwood, zinc fittings and flat packed - ready for easy self-assembly.
We try to source sensibly produced items, and we don't just mean sustainable forests, Trebark furniture is imported only as machined items, not in log or board form. This means that a larger part of the 'costs' stay in the host country and provides greater employment.
Most hardwoods if left untreated will turn a silver grey colour, which sounds more attractive than saying 'ages visibly'. To retain the wood's natural appearance and colour a light coat of teak oil or similar twice a year will help. Any wood, being a natural product, will check or crack on the end grain. This is quite natural and will not compromise the construction or integrity of the wood.
Where visually similar items seem to be more expensive it is usually because of better quality construction. The materials are the same just a better, superior, way of putting them together. For example some joints are butted and held tight with a metal fitting pulling them together - which is quite adequate. The more expensive items could well be mortise and tenoned, which give more than adequate strength to any joint. These can even be pegged with a wooden dowel and will never move.
